Finding The Perfect Shapewear For a New Mum
MY FIRST WORK EVENT
I have just come back to work from 7 months of maternity leave. I put on 20 KG with my daughter and whilst I have lost half of this I was still adjusting to my postpartum body. My old work clothes no longer fit and the body con dresses I used to live in I no longer feel confident in. In October 2022, we had our first event in Las Vegas! This meant I needed clothes to wear. I needed suitable office attire and evening wear that were comfortable and professional, that I felt good in.
Buying new clothes that fit was another battle but I managed to buy some pieces I felt great in. But I couldnt buy a whole new wardrobe! I had so many clothes that could of looked great witht the right shapewear. So I went on the hunt for some spanx, I was confident that one of the items would fit when I ordered 10 different styles! I ordered all the Shapewear items from two well known quality retailers and brands I trusted.
ORDERING SHAPEWEAR
I ordered 10 different types of shapewear items with the prices ranging from £26.99-£46.99. I ordered a couple of the costume style as I was buying for them to go under dresses. However, for all 10 that I ordered I sent all of them back. I found that the costume styled shapewear meant that they pushed my weight to the side creating unwanted lumps and bumps. I was sincerely disappointed! For the shorts style, these were much more flattering but despite ordering the right size they were incredibly tight and uncomfortable.
TRYING SEAMLESS SHORTS
Our Embrace collection had just arrived in stock and so I gave them a try as shapewear. They did not disappoint, not only were they incredibly comfy, they held everything in without being too tight. They gave me the smooth curve on my hips I was looking for! Not only did I use these shorts as shapewear, I also wore them under shirts for a night time look with high sandals.
